Faculty, staff, and currently enrolled NOVA students are able to borrow books from George Mason University (GMU) for free under the VIVA Cooperative Borrowing Program. You may check out up to ten items as long as you present a non-expired NOVA Card and proof of current enrollment at GMU's Fenwick, Gateway, Arlington, or Mercer Libraries.

Items are loaned for three-week periods, and you may renew GMU materials one time. Learn more about your GMU borrowing privileges and/or search the GMU catalog.

You can also borrow books from public libraries if you are a member, and might be able to obtain books from other academic and public libraries through your own public library’s interlibrary loan program. NOVA Libraries provides some interlibrary loan services, which vary from campus to campus.
